Change Healthcare Cyberattack: What Patients Should Know

“March 25,  2024 -- Last month’s cyberattack on a major health claims processor that handles transactions involving 1 in 3 U.S. patient records is still impacting patients and may have lasting effects on doctors, pharmacies, laboratories, and other health organizations.

Three major issues now face consumers, according to Ehrenfeld and Jillanne Schulte Wall, JD, senior director of health and regulatory policy for ASHP, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists:

  • Potential leakage of protected, sensitive patient data

  • Ongoing difficulties getting prescriptions or health care requiring prior authorizations

  • Long-term financial impact on doctors and practices, which could lead to doctors leaving practices or practices closing, affecting patient access to care.”

What we want our patients to know. The Change Health platform provided doctors, pharmacies, laboratories, and other health organizations with the ability to electronically submit and receive data. We regret until this is resolved, test results will not be available on the patient portal. Should you need assistance to obtain information from your record, please contact us. We are fortunate that we did not have the extreme impact that many other providers are experiencing. Please know that we have taken every measure possible to continue to provide the needs of our patients.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND

The safety of all our patients and staff remains our primary concern. if you are experiencing symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle/body ache, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea -or- if you have been tested for/exposed to someone that has tested positive for the Flu or Covid 19, Please call our office prior to your visit
